Since reuniting in the middle of 2016, The Cool Kids have opted for a quality over quantity approach. They've released two (fiery) tracks in the past six months: "Running Man" and "Connect Four." This morning, they add another: "U Are In My System," an unexpected slapper that appears on veteran producer Barclay Crenshaw's new self-titled album. The album blends electronic and hip hop and features appearances from The Underachievers, Mr. Carmack, and others.
On "U Are In My System" Crenshaw takes a page out of the Daft Punk playbook and utilizes a heavily distorted vocoder to add a thick layer of funk atop his highly textural and slappable drums. Chuck and Mikey bring the heat as always.
