The legal issues that Tekashi 6ix9ine is facing have escalated to surprising levels of severity in the last few days. The rapper entered a not-guilty plea to racketeering charges at his last in court date. During the legal proceedings, the evidence against him was presented as they rehashed events leading up to his being taken into police custody on November 18. The newest addition to the prosecution's case building comes in the form of a confidential informant. 6ix9ine's lawyer has since reportedly confirmed his concern.

Lance Lazarro is said to have commented on the serious development: "Anytime there is a confidential informant, there is cause for concern." The prosecution claimed to have acquired a "quite voluminous" amount of evidence via recordings of the rapper provided by the informant. Despite this fact, the attorney claims to remain optimistic about the outcome.

He sustains his belief in the rapper's ultimate release as an innocent man by stating, "I am confident that any recorded conversations with [Tekashi] will prove that he was never a part of the Enterprise and support the conclusion that he’s innocent."

Tekashi is also remaining positive although he is "not happy to be in jail." His trial date is set for September 2019.
