Tech N9ne's Planet album looms closer, set to land tomorrow (March 2nd). And while previous singles have been somewhat eclectic in nature, this latest drop finds Tech on his aggressive, bar-heavy tip. "For No Reason" harkens back to the days of Absolute Power "The Industry Is Punks", at least lyrically; however, there's somewhat of a modern twist courtesy of autotune-laden vocals from Y2. While the title might suggest a more metal-centric approach, the instrumental actually skews toward trap. While Tech and Machine Gun Kelly have occasionally forayed into different genres, "For No Reason" finds them rapping like they have something to prove.

In truth, it's refreshing to hear both rappers going off like this. "You think cause I wrote a pop hit that I won't pop shit?" growls MGK, showcasing some of that much-desired lyrical skill. We already know Tech can spit; "For No Reason" is simply a friendly reminder.

Quotable Lyrics

You think 'cause I wrote a pop hit that I won't pop shit?
The fucks wrong with you poptarts
I pop cherries and popstars, you popsicles is not hard
Popped in on the top charts out the cop car
To remind y'all you just rap and not guards
And I don't care who got bars
Because they don't acknowledge mine
So show me who got scars
