MF DOOM is one of the most interesting figures in rap music. The metal-masked villain has remained prominent in the underground rap world for over 20 years now, and his unique brand of flavor is enjoyed by critics, MCs and fans alike.

He is one of the greatest producer/MCs in the game, producing his own albums in entirety long before anyone knew who Mr. West was. He's collaborated with Danger Mouse, Madlib, RZA, Flying Lotus and most recently Bishop Nehru (although we don't consider that last one too much of a throwback).

Today, we're throwing it back to DOOM and some of the older projects he was involved in. He has no shortage of output, and whether you vibing to his instrumentals in the background of the work day or studying his way with words, he has something you can enjoy, surely.

Danger Doom - Benzi Box featuring Cee-Lo

MF Doom and Danger Mouse's collaborative effort turns 10 this year. On of the most influential cuts on the album was "Benzi Box" featuring Cee-Lo Green.

MF DOOM - One Beer

Cortex has been sampled countless times since MF DOOM's 2004 LP came out, but the metal-masked villain may have jumpstarted that trend.

Madvillain - All Caps

#TBT: MF DOOM

MF DOOM & Madlib are Madvillain, one of the most dynamic duos to ever emerge from underground hip-hop. Comic book flavor meets REAL rap on "All Caps."

Madvillain - Great Day

Another cut off the Madlib collab is "Great Day." Throw it on in the morning and jumpstart yours.

MF DOOM & RZA - Books of War

#TBT: MF DOOM

RZA and DOOM don't have as many collaborations as they should, but they did give us "Books of War." It's a chilled-out hip-hop tune where both producer/MCs flex their skills.

MF Doom- Rap Snitches Knishes featuring Mr. Fantastik

#TBT: MF DOOM

Mr. Fantastik really crushed this one, as did our subject. Electric guitar never sounded so good looped over a boom-bap beat.

MF DOOM - Doomsday [Instrumental]

The version with lyrics is awesome too, but we have to give love to the Mask's instrumentals. Definitely one of the nicest MC/producers, MF DOOM created a piece of blissful serenity with a track that's title would infer the exact opposite.

Viktor Vaughn - Let Me Watch featuring Apani B

#TBT: MF DOOM

We're not sure why MF DOOM released his third album under the alias Viktor Vaughn, but we think it's pretty cool. He enlists a great female MC by the name of Apani B to go in on "Let Me Watch."

This album also marked the first time DOOM enlisted outside producers for beats. This one was by King Honey.

MF DOOM - Arrow Root

If you look on Spotify, you'll find that there is a nine album box set of Special Herbs. This was an instrumental series of albums that DOOM put out, consisting of ~2-minute beats for you to zone to. This is perfect for a working environment.

KMD - Peachfuzz

#TBT: MF DOOM

We had to throw one waaaay back to MF DOOM's trio: KMD. Zev Love X (DOOM's former alias) was rapping in the early 90s and late 80s, releaseing the album Mr. Hood in 1991.
