Earlier today, Bobby Shmurda, Rowdy Rebel and the eleven other GS9 members who were arrested in December all went to the Manhattan Supreme Court for their first hearing since being brought in on 69 different charges. Somewhat surprisingly, each and every one of them plead not guilty.
Finally, some good news for Bobby Shmurda. After the Brooklyn native and 12 other members of his crew were arrested and indicted in a high-profile incident last December, Shmurda's attorney is now saying that one of the five charges against Shmurda will be dropped.
While rumors have been circulating of the rapper's release, Bobby Shmurda remains in prison. An Instagram video posted yesterday by New York singer Yung Relle depicted Bobby Shmurda announcing "I'm back!" into the camera, coupled with the caption "#MyBro Is Back #DontTellNobody".
As details continue to emerge in the case of Bobby Shmurda & GS9, it looks even more grim for their chances of getting out of this unscathed. Their indictment is now underway, and thanks to some tweets from people inside the courtroom, we're now getting a better picture of the case.
Ten days ago, you'd be lucky to find someone on the street in Brooklyn who knew the name Bobby Shmurda. But thanks to the speed and reach of viral Vine videos, Shmurda and his Shmoney dancing crew are now almost guaranteed "next big thing" status from the amount of attention and co-signs they've attracted.
