The biggest story from last week's charts is far-and-away Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly, which hit iTunes a week earlier than expected, which seems to have benefitted the LP, despite a rocky start to the release.
Action Bronson's Mr. Wonderful was much heavier on the promo side than its same-day release partner I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside, but despite that, the two are neck-in-neck when it comes to sales.
Though Kendrick Lamar's latest album, To Pimp a Butterfly, was supposed to be released yesterday (March 23), it came out a week early (March 16). Thus, TPAB's first week numbers are in, and the album has taken the top spot on the Billboard 100.
This week we’re seeing a new entry with G-Unit’s The Beast Is G-Unit EP hitting the charts. Although it moved under 20k opening week, we doubt the Unit is too upset.
The numbers have arrived for same-day releases from Big Sean and Chris Brown & Tyga. As expected, the former artist moved more than the duo, even exceeding our expectations, however Breezy and Tyga fall squarely within the sales projections.
It was estimated last week that Drake's surprise release, If You're Reading This It's Too Late, would move around half a million units in its first week out.

J. Cole's "2014 Forest Hills Drive" Debuts At Number One On The Billboard 200 Dec 16, 2014 at 04:55 PM
Rick Ross, move over -- J. Cole just topped your first week sales record for 2014. Rozay's Mastermind moved 179,000 units in its first week back in March, but now his tally's been handily topped by that of Cole's 2014 Forest Hills Drive.
Last week, the two biggest albums to be released in the hip-hop/R&B sphere came from NYC-based '90s heavyweights. First off, Mary J.
Thus far in 2014, no one in hip-hop has been able to top the first week that Rick Ross' Mastermind had in March (selling 179,000 copies), but now J. Cole's been predicted to best it by quite a substantial margin.
Late last week, we heard that Big K.R.I.T.'s newly-released album Cadillactica was on pace to sell 35,000 to 40,000 copies in its first week, which isn't bad in 2014.
Big K.R.I.T.'s new album Cadillactica hit shelves on November 10th, and three days removed from the album's release we have the expected first week sales for the album.
Theophilus London's album Vibes, released last week, is surely the Brooklyn rapper's biggest project to date.
After much speculation on the race between T.I. and Logic for the top Billboard spot, Tip's Paperwork album has come out the winner, although he wasn't quite able to attain a #1 debut.

The race between Lecrae and Jhene Aiko for the Billboard 200 #1 spot was a close one, but Lecrae has come out on top. The rapper's new album Anomaly snagged a #1 debut, after moving a reported 88,299 units, according to Hits Daily Double.
