There have been rumors concerning Game and his potential signing with the ever-growing YMCMB roster, ever since Birdman was featured on Jesus Piece shouting out Game, and specifically saying Cash Money was next.
There's been a lot of shifting going on at YMCMB lately. On top of Wayne & Nicki both having their release dates pushed back, and Jay Sean leaving the label, some internal drama has also begun to work its way through the ranks. The conflict started early last week when Tyga said that Drake feels "fake" to him.
As we've seen plenty of in the past, rappers like to pay homage to the things they love in tattoo-form. Kevin Gates recently had an interview where he explained many of his face tattoos, some of which are similar to Cash Money's Birdman.
Speculation has been arising lately, but when Young Thug was earlier seen exiting a Maybach that Cash Money Exec., Birdman was chilling in, he was snagged for an (unplanned) interview with Mass Appeal who asked him whether he was signed to Cash Money or not. Young Thug replied, "Yeah. I signed."
Many veteran rappers have threatened retirement over the span of their careers, although few really follow through on that threat. Lil Wayne put himself in this camp, when he said during I Am Not A Human Being II promo that he would not be releasing another album after The Carter V.
Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman was on set at the Young Thug cover shoot with Complex magazine recently and decided to take some time out to speak with the magazine about his hopes for the young rising Atlanta rapper.
Having announced it on his last album Jesus Piece, The Game officially signed with Birdman and Cash Money Records this week, and to commemorate it, he bought himself and his new label head matching chains.
The new Rich Gang compilation album from YMCMB is slated to drop on July 23rd, and today Birdman released the official artwork and tracklist for the project. This LP is not to be confused with the sequel to We Are Young Money, by the way.
On last week's edition of Rap Fix Live, Birdman controversially revealed that while there would be a new Big Tymers album, it would not involve founding member Mannie Fresh. Even more controversially, Baby hinted that Lil Wayne and Drake may take Mannie's place in the former duo.
Like father, like son. Both Birdman and his adopted son Lil' Wayne are now notorious for their face tattoos - last we heard, Baby had several large red stars inked on his skull, and Weezy got a variation of the Baker skateboard company logo on his forehead.
From the trio that brought you "Lifestyle" comes... a mixtape? Yes, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, and their generous benefactor Birdman have announced a joint tape under the name Rich Gang. Tha Tour Part 1, as it's titled, drops on September 29th.
