Continuing his Monday Mashup series, Big Boi releases this new cut titled "Lanes" featuring ASAP Rocky, Phantagram, and A-HA. The Outkast producer decided to mash up with Norwegian synthpop band A-ha’s popular track "Take On Me" along with his record "Lines" from his Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors.
The OutKast rumors have been all over the map this past year. It seems as though every other week we get confirmation or denial of a new OutKast album, a solo album from Andre 3000, or whatever it may be.
On paper, hip-hop and opera seem like completely different styles of music, but many producers have shown us otherwise. Using dramatic, often high-pitched vocal samples, they add a theatrical element to rap tracks.
Following the announcement that OutKast would be reuniting for not just one, but forty different festival tours, we've also heard from Big Boi himself that he's working on a new solo effort. Good news, everyone! Shortly after receiving confirmation that Outkast would be reuniting, not only for a Coachella 2014 show, but for an actual tour, the legendary duo have been spotted together-- although no word on if it was to work on music.
