We haven't received a new album from underground hip-hop mainstay Aesop Rock since 2012's body of work, Skelethon. The Rhymesayers signee returns, finally, with not only a new single but a music video for it, and an album announcement.
Aesop Rock has kept busy over the last couple of years, releasing collaborative albums with folk artist Kimya Dawson as The Uncluded, as well as a project as part of rap supergroup Hail Mary Mallon, for which he provided the majority of the production.
Busdriver has been a consistent force in in the underground for a little over a decade. Now for the first time since his 2012 album, Beaus$Eros, the rapper is preparing a new full length, titled Perfect Hair.
It’s been a minute since we last heard from Rhymesayer's Aesop Rock, but as he promised earlier this week, the indie rap vet decides to let got of a 32 minute instrumental titled "The Blob". He had this to say about the new release:
