T-Pain's been making his way back into the limelight this past year. He hasn't dropped a studio album in over six years but he's about to fix that with his upcoming album Oblivion. Before that drops, he wanted to drop a little reminder as to why he's one of the greatest to ever do it with his latest, "Mashup" release with Kurt Hugo Schneider.
T-Pain and Kurt Hugo Schneider first linked up on Kurt's "To The Beat" series which snowballed into T-Pain doing a full tour of stripped down singles. While the tour is nearing its end, with the last tour stop happening tonight is Washington, D.C., T-Pain brings us the same slew of singles in a form of a medley he first premiered on "To the Beat." The medley includes bare versions of "Best Love Song," "Buy U A Drank," "I’m ‘n Luv (wit a Stripper)" and "F.B.G.M." with Schneider providing the songs backing with piano and violin. It's interesting to hear T-Pain's strip club-appropriate anthems turned into ballads. It just goes to show how legendary T-Pain and his talents are. For anyone who wasn't able to attend his "Acoustic Tour" this should help with the F.O.M.O. Most recently, T-Pain hit up TRL to perform the medley as well as his Blac Youngsta assisted single "Goal Line."
Now, with Pain dropping his fifth studio album, and his first album in six years, it'll be interesting to see where he takes his sound next. The auto-tune singing's a staple to his sound but with the influx of both singers and rappers taking after Pain, who knows if he'll continue using it as heavily as he did before. His "Mashup" continues to prove his brilliance as a singer and as a artist as a whole.
