The sentence stems from a recent arrest in which cops found marijuana, codeine and ecstasy in the rapper's vehicle while he was still on probation for federal gun possession. Tip reportedly told the judge he needed help for drug addiction and begged the judge not to be sent back to prison.

One of the officers present at the time T.I. helped rescue a suicidal man, spoke to the judge on the rapper's behalf. As previously reported, T.I said his deed was not a publicity stunt to gain the court's favor. He must turn himself in in two weeks.
