SZA has been on an in-depth promotional run in support of her runaway hit debut album, CTRL. In her latest interview, the young singer-songwriter made her way to Billboard Magazine to touch on the project.

What may surprise her fans and hip-hop heads in general is that SZA struggled with writer's block when it came to coming up with the songs that would make up CTRL. She shared a story about a hiking trip that involved some hallucinogens - an experience that helped cure her of her writer's block.

"I heard everything singing to me, from the grass and flowers to the little leaves," said SZA. "I was tripped out, crying. It removed that fear barrier. The next day, I felt free — I couldn’t fail." She has also helped fashion hits for both Rihanna and Travis Scott.
