When members of neo-soul group The Internet announced they were each releasing solo projects this year, nobody knew what to expect. Were they disbanding? First up, lead vocalist Syd will soon release her debut album Fin. The first single out is "All About Me." The video for the song takes place in a dark warehouse or garage-type structure.
Despite the group's hiatus, her band mates make appearances in the video. Members of the larger hip hop collective Odd Future -- Tyler, The Creator and Hodgy Beats -- also make cameos. In the hook, Syd sings "take care of the family that you came with," which explains all the cameos. The collective -- The Internet's Syd and Matt Martians were part of it before creating their own thing -- keeps a tight circle and it's telling that this is the first single she puts out.
