For those unfamiliar, Coalmine Records is an independent hip-hop record label based in Brooklyn, New York City, a borough that has birthed countless rap classics and is widely considered the Mecca of the genre.

In celebration of a decade of successful operation, they've curated a 22-track compilation album, titled Unearthed. Here's a statement from their camp:

"This project is more or less Coalmine's version of attempting to deliver a mixtape-style compilation LP that can compete with some of the classics, from the volumes of The Beat Junkies mixtapes, to the coveted Soundbombing series ... [it] showcases our best work over the past two years and change, [and was] mixed, arranged, sliced and diced by the incredible DJ Revolution [of The World Famous Wake Up Show]."

The compilation features original tracks from Pharoahe Monch, One Dae, Big Noyd, Large Professor, Kool G Rap, Blu, MeLa Machinko, Royce da 5'9", Skillz, Diamond D, El da Sensei, Apathy, Celph Titled, Guilty Simpson, The Rockness Monstah, Rah Digga, Fashwn, REKS, Torae, Boldy James, The Artifacts, Sean Price, Billy Danze, Maffew Ragazino, Nitty Scott, MC, Wildchild and MED, with production from M-Phazes, Marco Polo, Ayatolla, G-Squared, DJ Devastate, BeanOne, Young Cee, Statik Selektah, Khrysis, DJ Babu and more.

In short, this is a hip-hop head's dream come true.

If you dig it, you can cop a digital download via iTunes, Fat Beats or UGHH. A double CD containing both a mixed version, arranged by DJ Revolution, and an untagged deluxe edition with three bonus tracks, will be made available on May 27th.
