In less than two years, Childish Major has established himself as an ATL producer to watch by producing for Rocko, Rome Fortune, and Two-9. After hearing the Community Service EP, we've now got our eyes on young emcee Matik Estrada, too. The Atlanta duo just previewed "Keep Running", featuring Big K.R.I.T., and now we get the full EP, which is available for free.
If you think Atlanta is all trap, then this EP is for you. Though the trap sound isn't totally forgotten here, Community Service is a much more varied exploration of what the South has to offer. Matik Estrada is more lyrically-minded than your typical Atlanta, and both emcee and producer give each other breathing room on the track, striking a careful balance throughout the tape. The 11-track EP also showcases young talent like Curtis Williams and Jace of Two-9, BB Rose, Blaze Servin', and Marian Mereba. Childish does a little bit of singing, too.
