This week was pretty monumental. Of course, the sudden passing of Prince rocked the hip-hop world (and accompanying blogosphere) quite a bit, and many, fans and celebrities alike, are still in shock. Apart from that unfortunate news (and his wasn't the only death we reported on this week), we also had some pretty 'WTF' moments, like Birdman's Breakfast Club interview two-minute visit, and this rather controversial Bob Marley Snapchat filter.

On the music side of things, however, we have no complaints. We finally received Rich The Kid's Trap Talk, plus a new mixtape from Lil Uzi Vert, plus ASAP Ferg dropped his album today PLUS Bankroll Mafia dropped their album as well-- trying to think of another plus, I'm sure there is one. For this week's Staff Picks playlist, we're seeing somewhat of a divide, which has become pretty typical for these. It kicks off with some classic West Coast vibes courtesy of Problem, DJ Quik and The Game, before transitioning into a surprisingly musical single from Migos, before heading deep into NY. The second half of the playlist, however, is all about the melodies and the trap.

Take a listen below, shout out myself cause I chose three songs this week.

Trevor Smith: DJ Quick & Problem feat. The Game & Candace Boyd "Rosecrans"

Angus Walker: Migos "Say Sum"; Fetty Wap "Wake Up"

Carver Low: Jim Jones feat. ASAP Ferg "Harlem"; T-Pain "Panda (Remix)"

Daniel Schwartz: The Underachievers "Play That Way"

Rose Lilah: Bankroll Mafia "Hyenas"; Night Lovell "Louis V"; Lil Uzi Vert "Hi-Roller"

Mike De Leon: Rich The Kid feat. Ty Dolla $ign "911"

Kevin Goddard: Lil Uzi Vert & Young Thug "Yeah Hoe"
