SoundCloud has struck a licensing deal with Universal Music Group that will allow UMG to monitor & monetize songs from their catalog on the online streaming platform. The UMG roster of artists includes Kanye West, Jay Z, Lil Wayne, & The Game. SoundCloud has already secured deals with 20,000 indie labels and Warner Music Group; Sony is now the only one of the three majors with whom SC has not established a partnership.
