OVO is all about mystery these days when it comes to unveiling its new acts. Well, it's not confirmed that Somewhere Else is an OVO act, but the manner in which they've been brought to our attention is similar to how OVO steadily increased buzz around dvsn, the duo of singer Daniel Daley and producer Nineteen85, whose identities were revealed around the time when OVO released their debut album, March's Sept. 5th.
Another episode of OVO Sound Radio is going down right now, and Oliver El-Khatib's opening mix has mostly consisted of tracks off Drake's VIEWS. However, he did sprinkle a new exclusive in there, and it came from the unknown act Somewhere Else. The track, "Move Together," features OVO duo Majid Jordan, both members of which appeared on VIEWS. The sound of "Move Together" is similar to that purveyed on Majid Jordan's debut album, though perhaps with a bit more electronic influence and a bit less R&B.
It's thought that Somewhere Else is the name of a producer behind "Move Together" and that the man singing on the track is Majid Al Maskati. As was the case with dvsn, though, it's likely that the true persona(s) behind Somewhere Else won't be revealed until months down the road.
