Da’Quan Jones, a.k.a. Slic3, is one of the most talented artist in the Fairfield County signed to independent label, M.U.S.I.C or (Making Uplifting Songs Inspiring Change) at the young age of 16. Slic3 was born in Birmingham , England but relocated to the east side of Stamford , CT when he was a year old. He was raised by his mother and stepfather who worked steadfast to instill with the principles of hard work and determination. Slic3 is attending Stamford High School and the Regional Center of the Arts (a school of art), as of right now. As a kid, he would rap for fun at a lunch table and draw small crowds while making a name for him. But, here is where he was introduced to a spectrum of art and culture. He then used this as an advantage to further his music career, meet life long friends, and independently sell copies of his music. As his name slowly started (and still in process) getting out of the Fairfield county, he became known as “Mr.203”. His fan base is called “Team 203”. Slic3 doesn’t like to be called a rapper nowadays. He likes to be referred as a musician since he likes to blend different genres into his songs. People will often say he’s a “one man band” the way he raps, sings, produce beats, mix, and edit his own songs. His 1st mixtape, “Marked By Excellence” was a success in his area, scoring him the opportunity of getting his next mixtape hosted by Toronto ’s very own, DJ Gutta. He is scheduled to release his official mixtape in 2012 called, “History Class” hosted by DJ Gutta.
