Skyzoo is one of the game's most underrated artists. With his sleek flow, imbeccable wordplay and vivid lyrics, it's scary to think that there's a bunch of people that are unaware of his genius. Fresh off of releasing his most recent EP Peddler Themes, Skyzoo drops the video for a stand out track "Bamboo." Cut with scenes from the movie "Strapped," Skyzoo sits on a bike in front of these shots rapping these bars. With Skyzoo's ability as a writer, he gives you a vivid portrayal of how guns and gun violence affects different demographics.
The video was directed by Isam Muhammed, who has also directed and worked many hats on set for different rappers and artists including Meek Mill, Future, Mike Zombie and Vince Staples. He took Skyzoo's concept with the song and applied it in a creative fashion that really brings the song to life.
It's a great visual for Skyzoo serving off of his first solo project this year, which he also said he will be following up with a full-length project later this year.
While this era of hip hop has been defined by auto-tune and 808's, it's always refreshing to hear someone like Skyzoo come in with the polar opposite of what's happening. "Bamboo" is a prime of example of his abilities as an emcee and Isam Muhammed does a great way of visually representing it.
