RiFF RaFF Feat. Skepta
HOTTTTT
The bad news is RiFF RaFF is shelving his country album Truck Stuff & Butterscotch Butts. The good news is he is releasing an album called Balloween on October 25th.
Coming Soon
Coming Soon
Skepta Feat. iLoveMakonnen & Céon
VERY HOTTTTT
Skepta had a couple of songs on his latest LP, Konnichiwa, that skewed towards more North American sounds, but his new loosie, "Coming Soon," is certainly his most out-of-character and weirdest collab with an American artist yet, going embracing the playful, cartoonish world of SoundCloud trap on his Makonnen and Céon-assisted "Coming Soon". The record wouldn't have sounded out of place on Lil Yachty's last project, and is certainly a surprising move from Skepta, who nevertheless sounds comfortable on the warm, child-like instrumental.

At the stroke of midnight, two of HNHH's favorite British artists in Skepta and James Blake will release new albums. Midnight can't come soon enough... fortunately, a few songs have hit the internet to hold us over in the meantime.

The latest episode of OVO Sound Radio just finished up, and some listeners have got to be disappointed that Oliver El-Khatib didn't play any new material from Drake, especially seeing that all eyes are on the 6 right now because of All-Star weekend. In any case, the episode did feature a tribute mix to Kanye West, which felt very timely and brought back a tearful amount of nostalgia, as well as a a few other exclusives.

Skepta has been lighting it up in Great Britain for the better part of the last decade, but 2015 was the year that he finally made the leap across the pond and established a foothold in the States and beyond. His newfound popularity can more or less be traced to his hit singles "Shutdown" & "Top Boy," though his remixes of "Jumpman" and "I Know There's Gonna Be Good Times" didn't hurt each other.

You knew OVO Sound Radio would come with some Halloween treats tonight, and, indeed, one of those included a surprise set from grime emcee Skepta, who dropped three new remixes during his mix. The most noteworthy is of the biggest track off What a Time to Be Alive, last month's joint album between Future and Drake, who recently tattooed the initials of Skepta's Boy Better Know crew on his left shoulder.

Skepta is making moves to cross over into the North American market. He's already earned nods from Kanye West and Drake, probably the two most valuable co-signs in rap today, so he's off to a pretty good start. Of course, it wouldn't mean anything if he wasn't backing it up with good music, but his new track, "Top Boy," proves he's got some serious talent, and he's sticking to his uncompromising UK sound.

Yesterday we received the official music video for the feel-good and quirky "I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)" from Jamie xx, Young Thug and Popcaan which appeared on Jamie's recent album In Color. While the song has been around for a minute, the video and now this remix is giving it a second push. Jamie xx recruited rising UK rapper Skepta on this official remix, which offers a slightly different version of the production too-- also handled by Skepta. In addition, Skepta added his affiliate Frisco to this new mix. Are you feeling it?

While Jay Z's cousin is still searching for talent in Nigeria, Drake and Skepta have jumped on the remix of one of the region's most promising young artists. Premiered on OVO Sound Radio last week, the official audio for the track has now been hosted on Skepta's SoundCloud.

Last week, Skepta shared a fun remix of his big track "Shutdown" that featured actor Idris Elba, but today, he's got something much weightier for us. He just lost one of his closest friends, Lukey, the other day, and now he offers up an ode to his fallen comrade. Here's "Lukey World."

Back in April, we learned that one of the year's best tracks, Skepta's wonky "SHUTDOWN," would be getting a remix from none other than actor Idris Elba. Well, it's here.

Skepta's time is now. This year, the London native has been shouted out by Kanye West and Drake, and dropped off a surefire banger of his own ("SHUTDOWN"), and now he's shown up on Flatbush Zombies' latest "Day Of The Dead" track. This one's called "RedEye To Paris," and as always, it was produced by the venerable Erick Arc Elliott.
