How Are You So Calm
Sir Michael Rocks
Sir Michael Rocks has had an undeniable impact on the rap game, and he’s ready to step back into our regular rotation with a new project. “How Are You So Calm” is the first track from his upcoming Populair 2 project, and it’s an excellent, funky jam.
Nap After I Trap
Sir Michael Rocks Feat. Shorty K
Sir Michael Rocks hasn't been as visible on the forefront of the hip-hop scene as he was a few years ago. He's still making music and pushing the boundaries of music, but not quite as frequently. He continues to diverge further from The Cool Kids' sound-- he was on a post-Cool Kids sound with his first string of solo mixtapes (Premier Politics, Rocks Report) but on recent projects like his Populair EP we hear him get even more experimental and weird with it.
Lost Boys (OG Version)
Sir Michael Rocks Feat. Trinidad James & Mac Miller
With new music on the way, Sir Michael Rocks decides to dig into the vault today and share an unreleased, original version of his collab "Lost Boys" featuring Mac Miller and Trinidad Jame$.
Sir Michael Rocks
On September 11, Sir Michael Rocks will be releasing an EP called Populair that will be comprised of eight new songs, and will serve as something of an extension of his 2014 album Banco. Today, he shares a cut from it called "Perfect."
Chuck Inglish & Sir Michael Rocks
The Cool Kids reunite(!!). At least for this one record. Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks, former rapping partners, come together for Chuck's new single off his upcoming album Everybody's Big Brother. This follows up the single "2003," which we premiered the other month, however "Super Squad" is being touted as the "lead" single. The record is quintessential Chuck, with minimalistic production featuring cowbells and bass.
Blended Babies Feat. Asher Roth, Sir Michael Rocks, Jon B & Like
Blended Babies reunited the Cool Kids on their recent track, "On My Own," and it may be the last recorded instance we hear of the duo made up of Chuck Inglish and Sir Michael Rocks (at least under that title), as the latter refuted rumors of a reunion on Twitter this weekend, revealing the Kids were "never coming back".
Clay James Feat. Sir Michael Rocks
Clay James made his HNHH debut last year with his Kool Water mixtape, and this year, he's joined forces with Messiah Da Rapper to form the duo Southern Playas. He also guested on "Untouchable", a super-collab that featured Sir Michael Rocks, Astro, and Sky Blew. For the remix, it's just Clay and Mikey, and they channel a special chemistry throughout the track.
Sir Michael Rocks, Astro, SkyBlew, El Prez & Clay James
Coming off the release of their Jay 305-featured single “Trinks N Hoes”, New York producers Money Montage & Coopatroop continue to keep the new music rolling and share this new posse cut called “Untouchable”. Calling on Sir Michael Rocks, Astro, El Prez, SkyBlew and Clay James for features, "Untouchable" is a story-telling driven record that's highlighted by some infectious, hard-hittin' production. No word yet as for where this collab will end up, but who really cares at the moment, shits available for free download.
Michael Christmas Feat. Sir Michael Rocks
With hastily scribbled artwork that Michael Christmas says he drew "with crayons outside a Goodwill," the new track "Bootleg Designer" is a celebration of cheap imitations of high-end clothing brands (shoutout to Canal Street, the mecca of these things in NYC). Teaming up with Sir Michael Rocks, Christmas turns out a hilarious, endlessly quotable song.
Shorty K Feat. Sir Michael Rocks
Shorty K is an up-and-coming rapper from the Chi who we've never featured as a solo artist before on the site, but today he teams up with longtime collaborator Sir Michael Rocks (if you've never heard their previous collab "Too Short Back," get hip to that). The Cool Kid joins him on the track "Livin."
Sir Michael Rocks Feat. Shorty K
Sir Michael Rocks just dropped a new project, BANCO, in August, but today he returns with a new one-off track. "Daddy" also features Shorty K and was recorded for the upcoming A3C Volume 4 compilation that'll be released by iHipHop Distribution on October 7th.
Ain’t Nothing Like
Sir Michael Rocks Feat. Too Short & Chuck Inglish
It looks like Mikey Rocks' wishes of collaborating with Bay Area legend Too Short finally came true on his latest album BANCO. Over production from DJ Mustard no less, Mikey connects with the OG and his rapping partner/Cool Kids affiliate Chuck Inglish. "Ain't Nothing Like" is definitely a banger.
Sir Michael Rocks Feat. Casey Veggies & Iamsu!
Sir Michael Rocks finally announced a release date for his debut solo effort, Banco, along with the tracklist and cover artwork. He also dropped off a short song "Playstation 1.5", which was pretty lowfi/experimental.
Noelz Vedere Feat. Sir Michael Rocks
We just let go rising rapper Noelz Vedere's new mixtape Bittersweet Victory moments ago, and one of the stand-out cuts happens to feature a fellow Chicago native, Sir Michael Rocks. The two Chi-town MCs connect on "High Class", as each one spits about their classy lifestyle and the luxuries that come with it, over a funky beat.
Move Something (Remix)
YOG$ Feat. Sir Michael Rocks
The latest remix from West Bloomfield, Michigan producer YOG$ finds him reworking Sir Michael Rocks' "Move Something," a choice cut from his December 2012 mixtape Lap Of Lux 1.5, which you can stream or download in our mixtape section.
I Wanna Do It
Freddie Gibbs Feat. Sir Michael Rocks
Freddie Gibbs already linked up with on producer for a full length project this year, coming out with the unofficial Madvillainy seguel, Pinata with Madlib. While Gibbs could've easily cruised off the success of that project for the remainder of the year, he's now got another one-off release with a notable beatmaker in the works.
SpaceGhostPurrp Feat. Sir Michael Rocks
SpaceGhostPurrp recently delivered a new mixtape at the beginning of March, BMW 2: Intoxxxicated, which came with 18 new cuts. He hasn't slowed down yet, returning with a new record this time alongside 1/2 of the Cool Kids, Sir Michael Rocks.
The Cool Kids Feat. HBK Gang
Today The Cool Kids blessed us with not one but two new tracks, marking their return as a duo. They announced the other week that a new project, Shark Week, was coming soon, so it's presumed this leak featuring HBK Gang is off it. Check out the other leak "Computer School" here. Quotable lyrics:
The Cool Kids
As Chuck Inglish revealed the other week, The Cool Kids are making a comeback. Today we get a small taste with the new track (featuring an appropriate intro) "Computer School." This keeps the classic Cool Kids production from Inglish while he and Mikey trade verses. Shark Week coming soon. This track is expected to appear on the project, and one of two we've received today. What do you think of it?
Good Shit Talkin'
Tris J Feat. Sir Michael Rocks
Producer Smoko Ono from Chicago recruits two Chi-town emcees to talk shit over his new record which was co-produced by Papi Beatz. This cut will appear on Smoko Ono's forthcoming project Smoko & Friends as well as Tris J's Super Grand Master Deluxe, both of which are due out in 2014. Quotable Lyrics
