Chuck Inglish: "The Cool Kids Are Back Forreal" Jul 13, 2016 at 07:53pm
Last year it was stated by Sir Michael Rocks that his beloved group with Chuck Inglish, The Cool Kids, would never return. However, today, fans of the duo have been given some amazing news. According to both members, The Cool Kids will in fact return -- for real this time.I called Mikey and realized nothing would feel better than us being the originators again," Chuck wrote on Twitter. "The Hiatus is over. We missed being us. We refuse to let people down and not be the actual group. We been through too much."

Whether or not you're playing, you've surely heard of Pokemon Go -- the latest addition to the Pokemon universe for iPhone and Android. The augmented reality game has already spawned countless memes, and strangely, a few instances of robberies, but for the most part, people seem to be loving their ability to catch Pokemon in the real world.

Staff Picks Playlist (April 1)
Staff Picks Playlist (April 1) Apr 1, 2016 at 04:25pm
This week has proved to be pretty eventful when it comes to song releases. There was actually a lot to choose from when it came time to compile our weekly Staff Picks playlist, and we're expecting the commenters to call us out on any and all oversights. There were Drake leaks. There was a Weeknd remix of Bryson Tiller. There was a G-Eazy remix. There was a 50 Cent remix. There was a Lil Wayne remix. There was a Wavy Wednesday cut. There was a Lupe Fiasco freestyle. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Sir Michael Rocks might have said that The Cool Kids are never coming back, but that doesn't mean that the duo didn't run things during their tenure. Over four years, Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish released six mixtapes, an EP and a proper album titled When Fish Ride Bicycles.

Sir Michael Rocks has been busy expanding his fanbase (and likely his mind too) beyond the usual rapsphere. Shooting The Shit With Sir Michael Rocks
Shooting The Shit With Sir Michael Rocks Aug 25, 2014 at 11:28am
Sir Michael Rocks is not new when it comes to this rapping thing. He's been doing it for almost ten years now, yet he can still be considered a young'n at the current age of 26 (and in fact, he's often grouped in with the young'ns, something we discuss during our interview). When he started out with Chuck Inglish as The Cool Kids back in 2005, he was too ahead of his time. Now that time has caught up with Mikey's style, he's on to the next one.

Wale & Sir Michael Rocks Engage In Twitter Beef
Wale & Sir Michael Rocks Engage In Twitter Beef Oct 9, 2013 at 10:05am
This is pretty random, but somehow MMG's Wale and Sir Michael Rocks of The Cool Kids got into a small Twitter beef last night. Wale's no stranger to beef, but we don't usually hear about Mikey getting mixed up in it. Wale had tweeted a question to his fans a few days ago, asking, "Whats the best anime series?" For whatever reason, Mikey Rocks saw this and called him out, tweeting, "Yo u will b super Sus talkin about anime G its not u." It seemed at first Wale didn't realize this was 1/2 of The Cool Kids, but once he did, he told Mikey to watch who he's talking too.

With the hectic-ness that was HOT 97's Summer Jam UA was missing from the site last week. Nonetheless, today we return in full force looking back at tracks that were posted within the past fourteen days instead of seven, because as usual, more than a few dope cuts have gone overlooked. From the still-slept-on song-maker The-Dream, to rising New York rapper Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire, we've got both r'n'b and hip-hop covered on today's six picks.

This week's Underrated Audio will put you on to five cuts from rising artists all of sorts. There are rappers representing the Beast Coast movement like The Underachievers, we've got Chi-town covered with up-and-comer Giftz, there's the expiremental Ro Ransom, and Sir Michael Rocks gives us some dope delivery on "In A Minute." Plus we have a track from female singer Jhene Aiko, who has some of the nicest vocal chords we've heard in awhile. What was your favorite track from the past seven days?
