Styles P & Sheek Louch
"Famous" has been chosen as the lead single for Kanye West's new album, The Life Of Pablo, and while it has a considerable amount of pop appeal through a Rihanna interpolation of a familiar Nina Simone vocal, it's also features one of the most traditional hip-hop instrumentals on the album. The gritty, Swizz Beatz co-production is the perfect place for Ye to wax off some DMX-inspired bars, as well as a perfect backdrop to some new bars from LOX members Styles P and Sheek Louch, who have come through with a remix today.
DJ Absolut continues his “Mixtape Mondays” series today, this time with Yonkers emcee Sheek Louch. Louch, member of iconic NY trio The Lox, gives us a vintage NY sound on “Nobody.” On the track, Sheek Louch lets everyone know who can step to him on the track – nobody. He doesn’t hold back against any potential haters, even threatening to stomp out someone’s cat.
Business Never Personal
DJ Kay Slay Feat. Sheek Louch, Maino & Raekwon
DJ Kay Slay is prepping his 50 Shades of Slay mixtape for a February release. Lucky for the fans, one of the most stacked tracks on the tape has leaked -- "Business Personal" which features three of the most respected emcees in New York City in Sheek Louch, Maino, & Raekwon. Suits, who produced the track, throws in Biggie interview snippets between the verses to bump up the NYC quotient even further. Sheek Louch comes out first guns blazing. Maino gets stuck in the undesirable second verse slot, and Raekwon finishes 'em off. Who had the best verse?
It's All Love (Original)
DJ Absolut Feat. Sheek Louch, Raekwon, Nathaniel & Uncle Murda
DJ Absolut dropped his crew track "It's All Love" crew track back in 2014, which featured a spare sample of The LOX and Biggie's "You'll See". Nathaniel's hook never quite connected with the skeletal boom bap beat, which now makes a lot more sense as Absolut liberates the original mix of the song, which features a much more musical sample.
Muddy Gorillas (Freestyle)
Sheek Louch continues to keep the new music coming. 24 hours after hitting us with the Fabolous & Whispers-featured record “No Losses,” Sheek Louch decides to come through and share a new freestyle this time around dubbed “Muddy Gorillas.”
Sheek Louch Feat. Fabolous & Whispers
Sheek Louch's "What You Want The Money For" was a perfect nod to mid-00s New York rap, while still sounding great in the car in 2015. It comes off his upcoming project Silverback Gorilla 2, which he's shared yet another inspired single from today, the Fabolous and Whispers-assisted "No Losses". It's one of many impressive feature son the project, which will also hoist collaborations with Pusha T, Jadakiss, ASAP Ferg, Ghostface Killah, Trae Tha Truth and more.
Dame Grease & DJ King Assassin Feat. Sheek Louch, Pusha T & Freeway
Famed Harlem producer Dame Grease has joined with L.A.'s DJ King Assassin for a big-time collab featuring Sheek Louch, Freeway, and Pusha T. Since the late '90s, Grease has worked with many of the East Coast's best, so he knows just what to do with the lineup at hand. It's a grimy, early '00s-sounding street record with heavy lyrical artillery from the three veteran spitters.
What You Want The Money For
Sheek Louch Feat. Swizz Beatz
Hearing the names Sheek Louch and Swizz Beatz, you might think we were talking about another era, but today, they've come together to bring back some of the early 00s New York fury, and it still sounds pretty damn good. After Sheek shows out on his verse, Swizz comes through with a hook, hitting us with the same shouted style we've come to expect from him.
I Luv It
Sheek Louch Feat. Ghostface Killah
Sheek Louch drops another big one off his upcoming album Silverback Gorillas 2. "I Luv It" comes a week after Louch released "What's On Your Mind," featuring Jadakiss and A$AP Ferg. The new track features another kingpin, and a man with whom Louch has collaborated for many a New York Classic: Ghostface Killah.
What's On Your Mind
Sheek Louch Feat. Jadakiss & A$AP Ferg
After dropping his Gorillaween mixtape on Halloween, Sheek Louch is back with a new single, "What's On Your Mind," off his upcoming album, Silverback Gorillas 2. He keeps things New York on the new drop, bringing along his LOX group member Jadakiss as well as A$AP Ferg.
Sheek Louch Feat. Styles P
DJ Absolut's #MixtapeMondays series has been a reliable source of new material from wily veterans of the rap game, and the newest installment justifies that statement even further. Calling on two-thirds off the Lox in Sheek Louch & Styles P, Absolut decides to share this unreleased record from the two called “Headshots.”
Keep It Gee
Sheek Louch Feat. Styles P
With Halloween almost upon us in a few short hours, that means we’re about to be treated to a shit ton of new music & projects from a wide array of artists. One project in particular that will be dropping tomorrow is Sheek Louch’s Gorillaween. But before it arrives though, the D-Block member decide to share a new offering from it called “Keep It Gee” featuring Styles P. Take a listen to the Alistfame & Wisp1ner-produced banger and let us know what you think.
Sheek Louch Feat. Jadakiss
Sheek Louch has been dropping Silverback Gorilla 2 freestyles all summer, and it feels like it should have dropped by now (it's still "COMING REAL SOON"). It appears that the prolific LOXsmith has been distracted by a side project Gorillaween, which is dropping on (you guessed it) Halloween.
Bout It Gorillaz
After dropping a new single, "Bang Bang," featuring Pusha T, Sheek Louch is back with another freestyle.
Still Grind’n (Remix)
Jadakiss Feat. Sheek Louch & Styles P
Jadakiss dropped yet another quality record yesterday called "Baby," and someone in the comments made a very astutely referred to him as the rap game Tim Duncan. 'Kiss don't miss. Indeed, he returns today with yet another systematically dope cut "Still Grind'n (Remix)," in which he invites the other 2/3 of The LOX, Sheek Louch and Styles P, to take another swing at his 2011 record "Grind."
Sheek Louch Feat. Pusha T
A week ago, Sheek Louch started teasing fans about a big collaboration with Pusha T, "Bang Bang." Based on the title alone, you'd expect some scathing shit, and you wouldn't be wrong. Today the veteran rapper has debuted the single with King Push, who, as per usual obliterates his verse. The song is centered around a "bang bang" sample (no Chief Keef) and some hard-hitting metal drums. Now we need that sophomore album from Push.
Boom Boom (Remix)
Shaggy Feat. Sheek Louch & Shhean
Earlier this summer, Shaggy dropped off a super bouncy track called "Boom Boom,' the ideal song during which to make your move on the dance floor. In an HNHH premiere, Shaggy returns today with the "Boom Boom" remix just in time for Labor Day weekend, bringing on his old buddy Sheek Louch to spit a verse over an infectious instrumental from Sting International, the producer behind timeless classic "It Wasn't Me." Stream Shaggy's "Boom Boom" remix and let us know in the comments how you're feeling the latest from the Jamaican legend.
De La Gorillas
Sheek Louch has been dropping weekly freestyles all summer and the Silverback Gorilla 2 release date of September 18 is at last approaching. With his eyes on the prize, the D-Block representative submits "De La Gorillas," launching into 2 minutes of straight bars over De La Soul’s “Rock Co.Kane Flow," which appeared on The Grind Date and was produced by Jake One.
Gorilla Language (Freestyle)
Sheek Louch is set to release his new project, Silverback Gorilla 2, at some point, but for now he's just releasing freestyles on a regular basis. For the most part, he's had some pretty good selections, staying away from the obvious. His latest is a take on Smoothe Da Hustler and Trigger Tha Gambler's "Broken Language".
Sheek Louch continues to keep it moving. After hitting us with “Survival Of The Gorillas” the other day, the Lox member decides to return today with another freestyle for our listening pleasure titled “Gorilla Homicide.”
