Game shows are one of the most popular, and easily syndicated, shows in the US. Think about it. How long have Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, and Family Feud been on the air? Not too mention all the other popular game shows where contestants can win a ton of money. People love to watch other people win, or lose, big bucks.

American Gladiator was a competitive game show that aired from the late 80's to mid 90's that was wildly popular. The premise of the show was to pit amateur athletes against "Gladiators" in a series of physical challenges and obstacle courses. Imagine American Ninja Warrior, but instead of competing against other amateurs, the contestant would be competing against Jackie Chan or Dwayne Johnson. That makes things much more interesting.

According to DeadlineSeth Rogen is looking to revive the series. He is currently set to executive produce a reboot of the show alongside Evan Goldberg. Currently, Rogen and Goldberg already produce several shows together, including PreacherThe BoysBlack Monday, and Future Man. MGM is currently shopping the idea to different broadcasters. American Gladiators was revived once before in 2008, with Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali serving as the hosts. It has not been announced who would host the latest reiteration of the series.
