This year's BET Awards are about to be lit, but that tends to be a given. Taking place June 24th at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, the event will be hosted by Jamie Foxx and see special live performances from Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Migos, H.E.R. and more. Before all that goes down the network is hosting their annual BET Experience all weekend long leading up to the big show on Sunday night, and it’s going to be jam packed.
If you’re unfamiliar, the BET Experience is a weekend long party that gives you, the fans, the opportunity to touch the brand and its culture in an active and experiential way, including everything from meet and greets, private parties, panel discussions, a celebrity basketball game, dodgeball game, and whole bunch of more cool things for FREE (peruse all the festivities here). In addition to all that however, the “Experience” will also be hosting a plethora of live concerts at STAPLES Center through out the weekend, featuring some of your favorite artists, including Meek Mill, Rae Sremmurd, Nas, Chris Brown, ASAP Ferg and many more.
Kicking off Thursday, June 21st at STAPLES Center, the first concert will see some veterans take the stage, namely LL Cool J, Ludacris and Nas, while Ne-Yo and Teyana Taylor are also scheduled to do their thing. Meanwhile, night two on Friday, June 22nd will be represented heavily by the West Coast with Chris Brown, Ella Mai and SZA set to tear down the stage. Then, to close out STAPLES Center run on Saturday night, June 23rd, BET decided to go big for the finale, calling on the likes of Rae Sremmurd, Meek Mill, ASAP Ferg, Nipsey Hussle, Playboi Carti, Kamaiyah, Wondagurl and Lil Pump.
