About Sean C & LV

And we quote:

"When it comes to executing the sound of Urban America, Sean C & LV are at the top their game. Just ask Jay-Z, Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, Fabolous, Lincoln Park, The Roots, Ghostface, and Jadakiss to name a few. All have been provided with the midas touch that has made Grind Music one of the most sought after production houses in music.

As a DJ, Sean C made his mark unto hip-hop as a founding member of the legendary X-Executioners and later as VP of A&R for Loud Records and SRC/Universal Records. As an A&R he oversaw projects from Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep and Big Pun. In his early producer years Sean C has contributed to classic recordings such as Jay-Z “Can’t Knock the Hustle”. His works with the late star Big Pun, propelled Pun from hardcore lyricist to Grammy Nominated superstar. Big Pun's debut album made history by becoming Hip-Hop's first platinum-selling Latino soloist. Sean would later go on to produce the Latin anthem "100%" for Big Pun's follow up album, Yea Baby.

A meeting through mutual friends soon led to Sean C connecting with LV, an up and coming DJ who would soon end up DJing for the late Big Pun. “I’d just left college and Sean called me and asked me if I wanted to DJ for Big Pun,” LV recalls. “Are you kidding me? What would you do?” LV, of course, accepted.

Not yet a full-time producer, but never the less a music man, LV placed in many DJ battles and held the crown as Uptown's go to DJ. In 2002 when he inherited a sampler from his soon-to-be partner, this led to the combo of Sean C & LV and Grind Music was born.

In 2005, the duo soon caught the ear of Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, who had just signed Grind Music artist Aasim to his Bad Boy Records. Sean and LV would eventually become the focal point of Puff’s production team. In 2007 the duo was summoned by Jay-Z to provide music for his critically acclaimed, American Gangster Soundtrack. The result was six cuts including the hit single “Roc Boys”.

Sean C & LV have since gone to provide classic backdrop hits for the likes of Wale, Miguel and have worked with a who’s who of hip-hop royalty including The Notorious B.I.G., Busta Rhymes, and Nas. When they aren’t in the studio cooking up tomorrow’s classic they can be found online providing insight to fans on sites like,,, MTV’s and their own

Sean C & LV recently branched out into marketing and branding, providing insight on the design of the new MPC Renaissance from Akai Professional Electronics."
