Today is the one-year anniversary of the ultimately passing of the revered Brooklyn rapper Sean Price, a member of the Boot Camp Clik as well as the duo Heltah Skeltah, and a prolific solo artist, too. Hip-hop fans and artists alike have been sharing their tributes online today and revisiting their favorite music to come from the lengthy career of the emcee also known as Ruck. To commemorate the occasion, the storied NYC label Duck Down Music, a longtime home to Price, has released a posthumous track from the Brownsville legend, aptly titled "Rap Professor."

The convivial boom-bap production comes from Brooklyn producer DJ Skizz, who's been active in the NY underground with the likes of Your Old Droog. Sean's wordplay, energy, and confidence -- tempered with undeniable wisdom -- make this record come alive. We miss you, Ruck.

Today's surprise drop is far from the last new Sean Price material that Duck Down plans to lift from the vaults. Price's posthumous album, Imperius Rex, is due out this year.
