Every notch on the calendar beckons to our FIRE EMOJI playlist, updated every week without fail. This time around, the selection process was particularly arduous. At the top of the ledger this week, ScHoolboy Q reigned supreme off one simple execution, the balance of which ended up heightening expectations over the project everyone thinks he's about to release.

For some months now, ScHoolboy did present a looking glass into his recording process, but to what end, we certainly had no inclination until he issued a cryptic Tweet, resulting in a two-day lead-up to "Numb Numb Juice," the strongest element of foreshadowing Q has given us in nearly 3-years. But Q wasn't the only artist starved for attention it would seem.

After witnessing the TDE artist marvel in execution (audio and visual), Tory Lanez was stricken with his usual competitive streak. His "Freaky" single dropped Friday at midnight to an overwhelmingly positive reception, only to come full circle at dinner time, when the music video sneaked into place.

Elsewhere on the hip-hop ledger, Yella Beezy scored Gucci Mane and Quavo as cameo guests for "Bacc At It Again," a song that could potentially displace "That's On Me" on his all-time mantle. Post Malone dropped the "Wow." with his tour mate Roddy Ricch. Lil West added a two-piece to his impressive tally, as did Beast Coast, the NY power staple comprised of The Underachievers, Joey Bada$$, and Flatbush Zombies among others.
