Newly-acquired San Antonio Spurs forward Rudy Gay is firing back at teammate Tony Allen after learning of a veiled shot in in the team's "Grit and Grind" motto.

According to Allen, the motto started as a direct diss at Gay, after he sat out a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder during their tenure as teammates. Gay, for his part, didn't take kindly to the association and took to Twitter to clap back at Allen, presumably for the guard's own troubles with staying on the court.

The team has adopted "Grit and Grind" to become synonymous with their tough, every man style of play. The first Grizzlies-Spurt tilt of this coming season should definitely be an interesting one now. You can check out a full quote from Allen on the situation here.
