Royce da 5'9" stopped by the Hot 97 studios to promote his sixth studio album Layers in an interview with Peter Rosenberg.
He called the album "re-introduction to Royce da 5'9" following his battle with alcoholism. "It's more introspective," he said. "A lot more personal... probably what my first album should have sounded like."
The interview covered Royce's PRhyme collaboration with DJ Premier, his friendship with Eminem, and his efforts to get sober and stay sober. He attributes his success to his four children and "warrior spirit."
