The notoriously moody Ronda Rousey usually goes into hiding after losses, and her most recent defeat at the hands of Amanda Nunes in UFC 207 is no different. Now she has resurfaced (at least on social media) only nine days after her brutal one-minute loss. Mousey posted a text quote to Instagram by author J.K. Rowling, taken from her 2008 Harvard University Commencement address titled, “The Fringe Benefits of Failure, and the Importance of Imagination.”

The quote reads, “And so rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.” Not exactly a strong statement. Rousey’s opponent Amanda Nunes has not relented after her decisive victory, taking shots at the former champion in the media.

The most we’ve gotten from anyone surrounding Rousey is a statement from her team that simply said Rousey will be taking time away to “reflect and think about the future.” UFC fighters’ career are generally short-lived, so it wouldn’t necessarily be shocking to see Rousey hang it up. However, she’s proven herself to be a fierce competitor, so nothing would surprise us at this point.
