Gronk expected to miss 8 weeks.
Rob Gronkowski's back injury is much worse than originally expected and the Patriots tight end is now scheduled to undergo surgery tomorrow (12/2) to repair a herniated disc.
Gronk started last Sunday's game against the Jets but left during the Pats first drive due to lingering back issues and never returned. He missed the first three games of this season because of a hamstring injury but this back surgery will reportedly keep him out for eight weeks.
The AFC Championship is seven weeks from this Sunday. Super Bowl LI, nine weeks.
