Rihanna is reported to have left Def Jam, and signed with Jay Z's Roc Nation label.
Rihanna has been with Def Jam since 2005, a deal she signed when Jay Z was still behind the label. In fact, as the story goes, Hov apparently wouldn't let Rihanna leave the room before putting some ink on the contract.
The pairing was a massive success, with RiRi releasing all seven of her studio albums on the label, but now her contract is up, and it looks like she's going back to Jay.
According to industry sources, Rihanna has left Def Jam to sign with Roc Nation, which happens to be the label Jigga started after parting with Def Jam. Ri has been with Roc Nation's management team since 2010, but now will serve as an artist on the label alongside Calvin Harris, DJ Mustard, J. Cole, Jay Electronica, Rita Ora, and Jay Z himself. The singer is now listed as an offical artist on the Roc Nation website.
Surprisingly, no official statement has been made by Rihanna's team, but we'd expect one very soon.
