Top Tracks: December 28 - January 3
Welcome to 2016, y'all. Did anything really change on January 1st, aside from waking up with a crippling hangover? Well, it certainly feels that way in the rap world, as some of the genre's biggest stars have made sure to come out with forceful statements that conveniently arrived in sync with the New Year.

140 Bars: Tweets Of The Week (May 16 - 22)
After a big first quarter, May has been kind of a slump month for releases, as there's tons of noteworthy projects planned for this summer, but the last few weeks have mostly been dominated by singles, videos and news. However, we did get great new tapes from Gucci Mane, Fredo Santana, King Louie and Remy Banks this week, some crazy visuals from A$AP Rocky and some big singles from 50 Cent and Gunplay.
The Best Prison-Released Gucci Mane Tracks Of 2015
Gucci Mane has released nine projects this year. We don't have to check-- that's more than any other rapper. He also happens to be in prison. Last year, he released 14 projects from the pen, making a cool $1.3 million, and he's on pace to topple those numbers this year. He's feeding his fans, he's feeding the streets-- though who knows if he's actually the mastermind behind any of this. No matter when these tracks were actually recorded, they're still among the hottest out.
140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (March 28 - April 3)
This week, we saw big releases from Wale and Ludacris, the (anticlimactic) announcement of Jay Z's new TIDAL streaming service, and some sick new tapes from T-Pain, iLoveMakonnen and Wiz Khalifa/Ty Dolla $ign. At the end of 2015's first quarter, we've gotten a ton of quality music, and it's looking like the rest of the year will keep the energy and excitement up.

RiFF RAFF Will Be Your Prom Date For $28,000
RiFF RAFF is significantly broadening his horizons in 2015. While the world once knew him simply as a rapper, JODY now has plans to join the WWE as Hulk Hogan's tag team partner... but that's not all. As of today, RiFF will also be hosting a prom date service.
RiFF RAFF Is Apparently Hulk Hogan's New Tag-Team Partner In The WWE
If you've been paying attention to RiFF RAFF's social media accounts, you may have noticed he's traded drugs and alcohol for regular workouts. The NEON iCON has been (literally) flexing every chance he can get, and it seems the motivation for his sudden goal to become a beefcake has been revealed. Wrestling OG Hulk Hogan has announced that RiFF RAFF is currently training to be his tag-team partner in the WWE. Through a series of videos, tweets, and Instagram posts, Hogan has also confirmed that RiFF will participate in the next Hulkmania event.

Tip Toe Wing On My Haters: A Breakdown Of Riff Raff Fans & Critics
Riff Raff first appeared on the rap scene in 2009 with The Texas Tornado and lines in the sand couldn't be drawn fast enough. He's an oddball even by Texas standards, a cornrowed white boy of (at the time) mysterious origin who rapped largely in absurdist, pop culture non-sequiturs and had a tendency to pull stunts like dyeing his beloved Husky blue.
RiFF RAFF Beefs With Sam Smith On Twitter
After breaking out with his Disclosure collaboration, "Latch" (sampled by PARTYNEXTDOOR and Problem on their recent releases), British pop singer Sam Smith has exploded in popularity in the US, namely his solo ballad "Stay With Me." But not everybody in America is a Smith fan. Yesterday, RiFF RAFF reacted to being cropped out of a VMA picture by Sam Smith by throwing shade at the allegedly huge-faced singer. View the original pic above, and the Twitter exchange below.
140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (August 29)
Isn't this something? Not only is Meek Mill in jail and his sophomore album is delayed indefinitely, but Jeezy also took a trip behind bars after getting caught with an assault rifle. He posted the $1 million bail, but the CTE suddenly got trouble on his head after pleading not guilty.
140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (July 18)
There was no simmering MMG beef to light up the hip-hop conversation this week and unfortunately Meek Mill is still in jail. But life still goes on in this week's 140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week.
Charts Don't Lie: July 6
Last week we saw r'n'b/pop take over the Billboard 200, and this week we finally see the return of rap to some of the top spots within the Billboard 200. Impressively, G-Eazy's third studio album comes in highest this week nabbing the #3 spot. Obviously his grind is starting to pay off, as the independent artist sold 46,000 units opening week, basically matching the numbers Fif's Animal Ambition did (he did 47k, to be precise). Following behind G-Eazy is TDE's lyrical MC Ab-Soul.
