Fat Trel suffered an unfortunate setback when he was incarcerated for a good part of 2017. Following his release, after releasing a "First Day Out" single, he took his time to put together the right project, and that's Finally Free, a new mixtape released the old-fashioned way (on Spinrilla) that picks up where the influential DC rapper left off. On "Nostalgia," he teams with Rick Ross, the MMG boss who signed him a few years back, proving his great ear for street rap once again. The luxurious beat finds the common ground between the two rappers, each bringing braggy energy and crisp imagery in their verses, while Trel reflects on being able to see give his son the best life he can as a free man. Trel has yet to release his debut album for MMG, but here he sounds more than ready, and Finally Free is yet another tape that's not that far off from a retail release. Listen to the full tape here and look forward to the next page in Trel's story.

Quotable Lyrics:

Self made, I bought my latest bitch a new apartment
I hate to go when she shoppin'
Cause I know how she rockin'
My latest son in LAX I love that boy to death
So every day I hustle harder for his every breath
