Raury has been described by many as an "industry plant," which isn't a fair label given the 20-year-old's talents. Recognizing his unique approach to songwriting and a sagacity beyond his years, HNHH's readership has regularly scored his music in the 90s.

This afternoon, Raury returns with perhaps his most personal song to date, "Butterfly." Sing-rapping over an ethereal synth, the young Atlantean opens up about his history of loneliness, depression, and suicidal thoughts, and expresses a wish to become a butterfly and flap his way out of the dark abyss that is the music industry. The song is a bit heartbreaking, but ultimately inspiring, that he has the courage to share some of his darkest secrets. S/O Raury.

Quotable Lyrics

I'm just a young nigga that noone knew
I grew alone to be alone is nothing new
With the whole world in front of me
Wrote this song here for the bitches that front on me
And niggas that stunt on me
I walked the school halls they would call me a wannabe
I did the small shows that nobody would come to see
I gave in to madness I would cave in to sadness
