Red Bull Sound Select always manages to put together some unusually fantastic collaborations, and “What Are We Doing” is no different. The track sees New Zealand singer/producer Race Banyon (who posts most of his music under the moniker Lontalius) collaborating with Ty Dolla $ign and co-producing the track with DJ Dahi.
Ty Dolla $ign’s vocals are front and center throughout the track, with Race Banyon providing interlude and backing vocals. He and DJ Dahi shine on the beat, an electronic-influenced R&B joint with big bass. You can also hear Drake’s immediate influence in the beat's bossa nova style drum line.
