Atlanta’s Quentin Miller has teamed up with Ricky Anthony for the distorted ballad “Solar Flares.” The track is basically divided into two movements. The former, a slow burning, vocally rich prelude; the latter, a laid back soliloquy over a futuristic, bouncy beat.

In his verse, Miller big ups Clipse’s Lord Willin’ album as one of his biggest influences, showing he has respect for some legends in the game. The track doesn’t exactly make for a linear listening experience, yet the two parts seem united by vibe rather than musical cohesion. Check it out if you’re feeling experimental.

Quotable Lyrics

Don't get it twisted
I was listenin' to Lord Willin' when I was young
Ya'll n*ggas are not spittas so I just dumb
Down my flow and brought my bread up
Fill my schedule, these dudes ain't been through what I been through
