140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (December 27)
So that does it. This is the final 140 Bars Or Less of the year. While many were shedding melancholic tears at the year's final days and others totally checked out because of holiday festivities, the news kept coming in to give a fitting end to one of the most divisive years in recent memory.
Samples Of The Week: October 30
When hip-hop began, samples were all that DJs and producers had to construct instrumental tracks with. They'd dig through crates of vinyl trying to find isolated drum breaks, melodies or vocals that they could repurpose for use in hip-hop music. Today, sampling has become less common, but a choice sample can still push a track from lukewarm to hot faster than you can say "uh-huh honey". This week, see who Drake, T.I. and Que & Problem sampled on their recent tracks, all of which can be found on HNHH.
Stream Que's "Who Is Que" EP
Que's "OG Bobby Johnson" took off quickly and unexpectedly. Then again, it was probably in heavy rotation within Atlanta before graduating to nationwide hit status. The track earned it's own all-star remix just this month, recruiting Snoop Dogg, A$AP Ferg, and Pusha T for the occasion, and Que now delivers his debut EP, Who Is Que for free stream, before it becomes available for purchase tomorrow.
