Pusha T is fresh off the release of his latest album Daytona. The rapper, whoalso serves as the president of G.O.O.D Music, has been busy with the label's roll out for four other albums, aside from his own. In addition to his work as a music executive and an artist, he's also been working on his foray into the tech world.
Pusha T's launched his new hip hop-centric app, "heir." King Push linked up with tech entrepreneur, Summer Watson to launch the application. Watson's worked at TuneIn and Playdom in the past.
The app allows fans vote new songs up or down. The individuals who show that they have a good ear for the latest music are rewarded a new digital currency called "Crown." The digital currency can actually be cashed out once a user saves up enough. In addition, users will also be able to get exclusive or early access to an artist's next tour stop or release.
"Heir" is also meant to help emerging artists garner more attention to their art. The app, which began taking sign-ups for early access, allows fans to use "Crown" to buy the attention of other artists and industry tastemakers.
According to HollywoodReporter, the app's goal is to engage the hip hop industry with fans more frequently.
In addition to Pusha T and Summer Watson, Def Jam Records A&R Executive and Push's manager, Steven Victor as well as Epic Records A&R executive Joey Arbagey serve as advisors for heir.
