"Barbershop: The Next Cut," the first "Barbershop" film in 12 years, will be released on April 15, 2016. "Barbershop" is a classic film in its own right, "Barbershop 2" managed not to submarine the franchise, and now "Barbershop: TNC" is on the way, with Nicki Minaj, Eve, and Common joining Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer in the cast. Entertainment Weekly has shared the first photos from the film.

Common and Nicki Minaj play new employees at Ice Cube's barbershop. Eve plays Minaj's rival. "Barbershop: TNC" marks Minaj's third film (her first was 2012's "Ice Age: Continental Drift"), and according to the film's director Malcolm Lee, she performed admirably.

“Whatever suggestions Cedric and Cube had — whether it was for me or any newcomer to the movie — they were always about making the movie better,” Lee told EW. “I really appreciated, and I think Nicki did too. She’s a star in her own right. Here she is part of an ensemble, but she fell right in line with how we were going to make this movie and make it as good as we can.”
