Missy Elliott and Pharrell both drop knowledge about their creative process together.

Missy Elliott sat down for an interview on Pharrell’s the Beats 1 show OTHERtone recently. The two had just collaborated on Missy Elliott’s breakout comeback single “WTF (Where They From)”, and co-host Paul Veneer asks some questions about the two artists’ work together.

Skateboard P is his usual soft-spoken, reserved self, but he does mention that he wouldn’t have made the beat for “WTF (Where They From)” for anyone except Missy Elliot – including himself, even though he spits a verse on the track. Meanwhile Missy Elliott reveals that as soon as she heard the beat “it was a done deal.” Pharrell truly is a musician whisperer.

However, the best snippet of all comes from the only non-musician of the bunch, co-host Veneer. Referring to Pharrell, he mentions that “Pusha calls him Gandhi,” a truly fantastic comparison.
