Antonio Denys Sanchez (born October 5th, 1990) better known by his stage name PhantomDaMonsta is an American rapper of Cuban descent. Antonio D. Sanchez was born in Miami, Florida, and moved to New Jersey at the young age of 11 where he was raised by his single mother. In his later years he attended Weehawken High School, where he then proceeded to attend TCI College of New York. Being a strong willed person he always knew what he wanted in life, and he knew music was the way out.
Phantom began to rap at the young age of 14. Although it began more as poetry it later on progressed itself into composing R&B songs then gradually rap. After realizing he had a keen taste for writing and music, he decided to take his talent into his own hands recording from his computer using programs such as acid studio and low quality computer microphones. Although quality wasn’t up to par he put up numbers on Myspace that sky rocketed to about half a million plays/hits and 18,000 fans/friends before his account was compromised by someone else. Learning that he had an impact on the female mass he then found his lane in the music industry.
After growing a bigger buzz, at the age of 16 and regaining his self proclaimed fame, Phantom’s talent was acknowledge by a local engineer/producer by the name of “Macho”(R.I.P) who ran a minor label knows as “Big Shots”. Phantom worked alongside Macho and many others to help perfect the art of his craft from delivery and flow to vocabulary. Phantom states “They taught me a lot it was my first experience in an actual studio, and I even did my first show with Big Shots.” But, as all good things come to an end Phantom decided to branch off as a solo artist & attain his dream off of his own hard work.
Throughout the following years Phantom began to achieve not only local but global attention drawing in fans from all over the U.S, UK, France, Canada, and many more. Phantom became a Youtube sensation drawing in over 300,000 plays on one single video and 850,000 plays accumulated off remix’s of songs that are hits. Although the videos were just for fun at first Phantom began to run with the idea of remixing other songs since the fans where demanding he do more and more. (www.youtube.com/phantomdamonstatv)
On October 5th, 2011 Phantom released his freshman mixtape titled “Cute Poison”. Having a midnight release on”hotnewhiphop.com” the mixtape was in instant hit. The mixtape drew in more male fans and with that even more female fans. Cute Poison which is still up for free download, has received over 650 downloads & Over 3100 views as an unsigned artist. Although a few minor labels have shown interest in Phantom he remains unsigned, and continues to provide the music his fans love so much until the right offer comes around.
Throughout his music career Phantom has managed to achieve a lot on his own doing performances and appearances at clubs in the tri-state such as; Leather Lounge, Webster Hall, NY Performance Theatre, and personal parties. The man is young and ambitious to say the least. So stay tuned and look out for the next big thing to hit a city near you “PhantomDaMonsta”! (www.itsmyurls.com/phantomdamonsta)
