After a successful 2015 highlighted by his triumphant Big Grams EP, Big Boi is gearing up for a big 2016 campaign. The swaggy ATL vet announced that he'll be heading Las Vegas once a month for a year-long residency at the Wynn Hotel. Vegas residencies are famously lucrative, and Sir Lucious Left-Foot is likely earning a sum well into the seven figures for his nine scheduled performances at the Wynn.

Outkast Turned Down An Opportunity To Perform At The 2004 Super Bowl
The New England Patriots narrowly defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII, but no one remembers that. All that anyone outside New England remembers from that Super Bowl is when Justin Timberlake accidentally-on-purpose ripped of Janet Jackson's shirt and bared her titty for all of Earth to see. The "wardrobe malfunction" could have been prevented, if Outkast had accepted the NFL's invitation to perform at that year's Super Bowl.
Classic Rotation: Outkast "Aquemini"
Earlier this year we’ve done Classic Rotations pieces on Outkast’s Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and ATLiens, and today we’re bringing you a reflection piece on Outkast’s third album, Aquemini. The 1998 follow-up to ATLiens was recorded in Atlanta and features a sound along those lines. It still sounds experimental in 2015, and it was completely out there seventeen years ago today, when it was first released.
How To Make A Double Disc Rap Album That Doesn't Suck
Yesterday, The Game surprised us all by announcing that his long-awaited sequel to 2005's The Documentary would span two discs and 38 tracks. Unless you're a ride-or-die Game fan, this news may come as a disappointment.
Big Boi And Andre 3000 Have Been Discussing An Outkast Biopic
The success of "Straight Outta Compton" has proved the commercial viability of rap biopics and sparked public (and private) interest in biopics about Master P, Tha Dogg Pound, Death Row Records, the Wu-Tang Clan. The latest -- a possible Outkast biopic.
Classic Rotation: Outkast's "ATLiens"
If Outkast’s debut made the case that Big Boi and Andre 3000 were legitimate rappers, then their sophomore album proved that they were great artists. While the straight-forward gangster-pimpin’ vibe on Southernplayalistic was indeed awesome, the experimental nature of ATLiens was-- no, is-- absolutely mind-blowing.
#TBT: OutKast's Early Deep Cuts
OutKast might be best known for their later material like "Ms. Jackson" and "Hey Ya!," but this duo's discography runs deep. Their first few albums, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, ATLiens, and Aquemini are hip-hop classics that melted southern twang with funky experimental fusion. With hits like "Elevators (Me & You)" and "Rosa Parks," OutKast began to pave their way to mainstream success, but it was lesser-known gems like "Babylon" and "Mainstream" that speak volumes of their limitless art.
10 Best Hip-Hop Crews Of All Time
The hip hop crew is an essential part of success. Whether big or small, every rapper has an entourage. Sometimes it's full of rappers, and other times it's just his buddies from back in the day, nonetheless, weak links in a crew can water down the crew as a whole-- something we took into consideration when crafting this list. You have the multimedia approach that Odd Future takes, and also the full-on lyrical assault that Wu-Tang Clan makes. Both are great crews, but who would comprise a list of the best rap crews of all time?
Kanye West Hangs With Outkast, 2 Chainz & More At Atlanta Waffle House
It's tough to catch Kanye West with a smile on his face these days, but when you're hanging out in a waffle house with Andre 3000, it's pretty much impossible to mean mug. Following his surprise performance at 107.9's Birthday Bash 20, Kanye joined a few of his favorite ATLiens at their favorite late night spot.
10 Drumless Hip-Hop Tracks
What's that? Hip hop without the drums? Does that exist? Is it even possible? Well, it does exist in some form. While hip hop is almost defined by its drums, there are instances where rapping takes place over an absence of drums. Whether it's Nas kicking off his Untitled album or Outkast getting galactic on ATLiens, some cool tracks have been created without that classic boom-bap rhythm.
Classic Rotation: Outkast "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik"
Atlanta is a modern-day hotspot for rap music, but before Young Thug, Migos, Ludacris, Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy or T.I. had captured the spotlight, there was a duo named OutKast. Andre 3000 and Big Boi’s debut album turns 21 today, and it’s important to understand the influence that the record had, and continues to have. It’s greatest accomplishment, arguably, was putting Atlanta hip-hop on the map. Maybe they weren’t the first to do it, but they were definitely the first to do it really, really well.
5 Times The Grammys Got 'Best Rap Album' Right
The Grammys are coming right up, and we'll have the pleasure of watching Iggy Azealia, Common, Eminem, Childish Gambino, Schoolboy Q or Wiz Khalifa take home an award for the 'Best Rap Album.' 2Pac Letter Reveals Potential Supergroup With OutKast, Scarface, E-40 & More
Ah, what could've been. The most recent discovered treasure penned by Tupac Shakur is a letter to his friend Big Lock. Unfortunately, there's no date on the letter, but in it, Pac tells Lock that his record sold five million copies, so it's safe to assume he means All Eyez On Me, which was released February 1996. He would be killed in September of the same year.
Top 10 Best Holiday Raps
We're a day away from Christmas, which means you have been subjected to the same five Christmas songs for the last 90 days. Mariah is a national treasure, but if we have to hear "All I Want For Christmas Is You" again, we'll go to her Bel Air home and drop off all the dogs that have spent the last two decades panicking to Daydream. We know that some of you are with us.
Andre 3000 Says OutKast Reunion Tour Made Him Feel Like A "Sell-Out"
One of the biggest draws at most music festivals this summer was the reunion of OutKast, the game-changing ATL duo who hadn't performed together in a decade. When watching their inaugural performance at Coachella last April though, many fans (myself included) noticed that Andre 3000 didn't appear to be having much fun. While his reluctance seemed to diminish in later performances, the rapper/singer has now been quoted saying that he didn't "wanna do the tour," and that it made him feel like a "sell-out."

Andre 3000 On The Prevalence Of Singing In Rap: "It’s Just A Progression"
From early on. it was clear that Andre 3000 wanted to do more with his voice than just rap. Even before he went into the experimental realms of The Love Below, he was incorporating melody into his vocals, but according to him, he got a lot of flak for it.
