The Best Hip Hop Songs (On Spotify) Of November 2016
Earlier this year, HNHH launched a Spotify playlist called FIRE EMOJI: The Hottest Hip Hop Songs Right Now. The playlist is updated on a daily basis. It lives on Spotify and thus is inherently imperfect, because not all super-hot hip hop songs have been added to Spotify. Still, the playlist is generally representative of the best new releases in hip hop and R&B.
O.T. Genasis' "Cut It" Becomes His 2nd Platinum Single
O.T. Genasis has earned his second platinum plaque. His breakout hit, "CoCo," released in late 2014, was declared platinum in February of this year. The certification has now been awarded to "Cut It," released in September 2015.
Staff Picks Playlist (November 18)
Defying the orders of his managers, Kanye West went on another live rant during a show last night, and he expressed his admiration for president-elect Donald Trump, thus earning him the ire of a huge chunk of his fans. Is it that surprising? No. But it's a reminder of the power of his voice and its ability to immediately rupture the hip-hop world. In less controversial news, Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles" is the No. 1 song in the country.
Top Tracks: May 9 - May 15
In contrast with the first few months of 2015, when it seemed like our Top Tracks lists were just the same Kanye and Drake tracks rising and falling with each ensuing week, the past few editions have been utter chaos, with the #1 spot changing every week. Staying power is proving difficult to achieve in an increasingly crowded summer playing field-- Beyoncé and Birdman's chart-toppers from two and one week ago, respectively, are nowhere to be found this week, although a few of the lower-ranking tracks stuck it out.
O.T. Genasis To Release "Rhythm & Bricks" Tomorrow; Artwork & Tracklist
O.T. Genasis is about to release his debut solo mixtape via Busta Rhymes' Conglomerate Records. After releasing his breakout hit, "CoCo," last October, O.T. has stayed afloat with a few hot singles but hasn't yet given fans a full project. Luckily, Genasis has announced that his new mixtape, Rhythm & Bricks, will arrive tomorrow, September 22.
Meet J-Doe: Conglomerate Records' Next-Up
You probably know O.T. Genasis as the new face of Busta Rhyme's Conglomerate Records. Busta's first signee, though, is another L.A. guy, J-Doe, who's had years of industry experience under his belt. You might remember his 2011 hit, "Coke, Dope, Crack, Smack," or more likely, the remix and video, which featured T-Pain and David Banner. Though the titles of both of the Conglomerate signee's biggest hits are similar, J-Doe is a whole different kind of rapper.

Chelsea Celebrate Premier League Title By Singing O.T. Genasis' "CoCo"
Chelsea locked up a Premier League championship today with a 3-1 victory of Sunderland. They followed up a trophy-raising celebration on the pitch with a champagne-soaked, hip hop-infused locker room fiesta. Things starting off with Big Sean's I.D.F.W.U." before proceeding to O.T Genasis' eternal banger "CoCo." The "CoCo" portion of the festivities comprised of a raucous teamwide sing-a-long as Didier Drogba sprayed his teammates with champagne. Once again O.T. Genasis provides the soundtrack to another good-ass time.
Jay Electronica Calls Kanye West A "Black God," Talks Young Thug & O.T. Genasis
We may never get Jay Electronica's "Act II: Patents of Nobility", though last month, we came one leak closer with "Road to Perdition".
O.T. Genasis Arrested In L.A.
O.T. Genasis was arrested earlier this week (March 25), though not for what you might think. The "CoCo" rapper (and lover) was stopped in L.A. after running a red light, and after the cops ran his license, they found two arrest warrants stemming from two prior traffic violations. Genasis was taken to a nearby police station, where he was released soon after on his own money. Though his driving may be suspect, Genasis is still living large off the success of "CoCo". We hope to hear a full project from the Long Beach rapper in 2015.
Top Tracks of The Week: February 10- February 17
If it weren't for the weird for-pay nature of Drake's new "mixtape" then all five of these tracks would come from the 6 God. That's not to say the rest of the week was terrible. Our Top 100 chart contained a number of notable tracks. Standouts this week included Migos, Big Sean, Chance The Rapper and OT Genasis. Take a look at the list and feel free to suggest your own top tracks in the comments.
Busta Rhymes Suffers Minor Head Injury After Falling Off Stage
Busta Rhymes has been unbelievably supportive of Conglomerate artist O.T. Genasis' surprise hit "CoCo", but his overwhelming hype may have got the better of him at a recent New York show. While headbanging to the rapper's buzzing track at a recent Webster Hall show, Busta fell of stage, hitting his head in the process.
