It's starting to look more and more like the chance of rapper Tay-K being released from prison is getting smaller and smaller. On Thursday, one of his alleged accomplices in the murder of Ethan Walker, was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the crime.

According to the Star-Telegram, the accomplice, Latharian Merritt, was the one who had been accused of actually pulling the trigger on the shot that ended Walker's life. While the death penalty was waived in his case, as it was for Tay-K as well, he was hit with the maximum possible charge of life in prison without possibility of parole.

He claimed that the shot must have been an accident, and that he never attempted to harm the woman that was present with Walker at the time of the incident.

"My finger must have been on the trigger, but I don’t remember pulling the trigger," Merritt said during the trial. When asked if he had anything we wanted to say to the Walker family, he replied, "I'm sorry I was in that situation."

Merritt is the second member of the group that allegedly committed the crime. Another accomplice, an unnamed girl who was reported to have been the mastermind behind the entire plan, was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Hopefully Tay-K will be found innocent, but with each accomplice being sentenced to prison it seems less and less likely. Even if his sentence wont be nearly as severe as Merritt's, but his infamous "race" that granted him his fame probably wont help in case in the courtroom.
