Nice To Meet You
When we talk about a dual threat in hip-hop, usually we mean someone who raps and produces instrumentals. Normally we're not referring to someone who can direct videos and music documentaries as well as rap his ass off. But that's just what Vinny Cha$e has done. He didn't necessarily always want to be a rapper, but after seeing the lifestyle up close he just gravitated towards it. Vinny directed music videos for hip-hop heavyweights like Cam'Ron, Juelz Santana, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown. Do you remember the time Killa Cam announced on film that Dipset was a wrap? Yeah, Vinny shot that. He and Kid Art, a childhood friend and fellow filmmaker, kept the film rolling while they networked with industry heavyweights across the country. This relationship building would be crucial when they decided to form Cheer$ Club and start making music full time.
After releasing 4 mixtapes that grew his fanbase exponentially, last year he inked his name on the dotted line with Epic Records and his longtime friend Aaron Reid. This gave Vinny the momentum to push Cheer$ Club full throttle and start getting ready for the big time. Already a staple in Harlem fashion, this deal gave him the major label klout and budget to make his visuals look exactly how he wanted, a dream come true for any director. With his debut album allegedly on the way and fans clamoring for new music after last year's monster King's Landing mixtape, it's no wonder Vinny Cha$e is the talk of the town.
