For some reason, Omarosa Manigault has released a recording of her being fired from position of director of communications for the office of public liaison at the White House. Intended, no doubt, to spark discussion and controversy, the tape is pretty straightforward and the firing seems pretty above-board. There are other recordings too, one of which was taken in the Situation Room (why they allow phones inside is beyond me) and Omarosa says that she made them to "protect [her]self, and [she] have no regrets about it."

In the recording, John Kelly can be heard saying that her dismissal has to do with some "pretty serious integrity violations" and continually shutting down her requests to speak to Trump (the equivalent of the classic "can I speak to your manager?" request). The timing of all these things–her tape, her comments about Trump starting a "race war" and her new book–is serendipitous, to say the least. The White House has caught on and released a statement via press secretary Sarah Sanders:

this book is riddled with lies and false accusations. It’s sad that a disgruntled former White House employee is trying to profit off these false attacks

This isn't the first time Omarosa's been fired by Trump, she was fired multiple times on The Apprentice.
