OG Ron C and DJ Candlestick have indubitably inspired Drake's sound, and they know just how to amplify the already existing H-Town influence in his music to a hypnotic effect. Drake gave OG Ron C an exclusive version of "Madonna" before If You're Choppin This It's Too Late, and every time a Drizzy project gets chopped, it goes straight to the OVO blog.
Codeine Views chops up every VIEWS track and also comes with a few bonus exclusives, including a Swishahouse interlude featuring Lil Flip and Big Shasta as well as a version of "Controlla" that's got Popcaan back on the track. The whole project presents the most popular album of 2016 (and arguably of the past few years) in a wholly new context. This is the Chopstars at their best. Get ready to cry some purple tears to their rework of "Fire & Desire."
